Over 95 percent of the world's computer chips are now embedded in devices. When they are also networked online, physical and virtual worlds merge into "cyber-physical systems" - novel interacting systems that already today have begun to regenerate automotive, transport, medical, telecommunications, and energy technologies. Many of the faculty’s chairs are now working collectively in this research field in the development of cyber-physical systems with a focus on energy consumption and quality assurance. The result is a new collaborative infrastructure for projects and exchanges.
