The teaching evaluation primarily serves to ensure the quality of teaching and gives students the opportunity to provide anonymous feedback to lecturers. With the conversion of the evaluation in the summer semester 2020 from a paper to an online format, all courses offered at Faculty IV will be evaluated each semester. This will affect approximately 250 - 350 courses per semester. According to the AllgStuPO, courses do not necessarily have to be evaluated every semester, but usually once a year, at least once every three years (AllgStuPO §48 (1)).

After the end of the survey period, all lecturers receive a detailed report, which they discuss with the students within the lecture period. In the case of comparatively poor evaluations of the cours(es) by the students, the Dean of Studies holds a teaching quality discussion with the person responsible for the module and discusses possibilities for optimization. In addition, the members of the Ausbildungskommission may decide to hold further discussions. The results of past and current evaluation periods can be viewed at this link (TU login required).
