What is a Study Area?
The curriculum of the master's programs of Computer Engineering (CE), Computer Science (Informatik) (CS(I)), Electrical Engineering (ET) and Information Systems Management (Wirtschaftsinformatik) (ISM(WI)) is structured in study areas. A study area accumulates modules of different chairs (Fachgebiete) under a specific focus to provide a professional deepening and profiling. As well there will be a better orientation in the study area within the module offerings of Faculty IV.
Persons Responsible for the Respective Study Area
For each study area there is at least one professional person responsible:

Choosing the Study Areas and Modules Offered
The study and examination regulations of each of the master's programs define which rules are applicable for choosing the study areas. The valid study and examination regulations for your master's program you can find at the respective website.
The particular up-to-date catalogues and descriptions of modules are released in the module transfer system of TU Berlin (MTS): https://moseskonto.tu-berlin.de/moses/modultransfersystem/studiengaenge/suchen.html (choose your master's program, choose StuPO 2015 as well as the current module list, e.g. Modulliste SS 2017, beneath the arrow „Wahlpflicht Studiengebiet Fak IV jeweiliges Studiengebiet wählen”).
